Role Title: Lead Engineer
Role Purpose: To lead the end-to-end design, development, and manufacturing of modular waste treatment plants for the International Business Division. The role involves building and managing a multidisciplinary engineering and fabrication team, overseeing system architecture and production, ensuring compliance with international engineering and environmental standards, and driving innovation in waste treatment technologies to align with operational and sustainability objectives.

1. Waste Treatment Plant Design & Development
- Lead the design and engineering of modular waste treatment plants from concept to commissioning.
- Oversee the development of system architecture, process flows, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Standardize design documentation, engineering protocols, and technical specifications.
2. Manufacturing Oversight & Process Improvement
- Manage in-house manufacturing and fabrication of plant components.
- Implement production workflows, cost control measures, and process optimization strategies.
- Ensure efficient integration of plant systems for operational readiness.
3. Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Recruit, develop, and manage a multidisciplinary engineering and fabrication team.
- Conduct regular team briefings, performance reviews, and mentorship programs.
- Promote a high-performance, safety-focused, and innovative work culture.
4. Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to international engineering, manufacturing, and environmental standards.
- Supervise QA/QC processes during all stages of production and assembly.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
5. Project Management & Delivery
- Plan, execute, and monitor engineering projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Track engineering KPIs, project milestones, and technical deliverables.
- Prepare and present technical progress reports to management.
6. Innovation & Technology Integration
- Research and adopt new waste treatment technologies (e.g., composting, anaerobic digestion, thermal treatment, MRFs).
- Implement process automation, sustainability measures, and efficiency improvements.

Education/Experience
- Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Environmental, Process, or Industrial Engineering.
- Professional licensure with a recognized engineering body (mandatory).
- Minimum of 10 years’ senior-level engineering experience in waste treatment or industrial system design/manufacturing.
- Proven track record in managing full-cycle engineering projects.
- Experience in African or developing country contexts preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of waste treatment technologies and sustainability principles.
- In-depth understanding of international environmental and safety standards.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Strong financial acumen for cost control in engineering projects.
