The Lead Integration Project Manager (i-PM) is a pivotal role within the Software, Hardware and Power Systems programme, responsible for independently delivering complex projects within a defined technology or product area. This role acts as a single point of contact within NPD and across category at a senior level in SEA, ensuring technical excellence, robust project delivery, and effective stakeholder engagement.
DescriptionReporting to the Programme Manager, you will lead and drive projects, influencing a multi-disciplinary team of engineers who are researching new technologies and components for Dyson’s next generation products. You will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, ensuring technical risks are identified and mitigated, and that project objectives are met on time and within budget. The role requires solid understanding, especially in the embedded software and hardware development, hence the ability to communicate project status and risks to senior management, and to collaborate with engineering, operations, quality teams, and key suppliers effectively.
Accountabilities- Independently manage and deliver complex projects within the SWHW&PS domain, balancing technical, schedule, and resource constraints.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, ensuring effective and timely communication.
- Define and implement the communications plan for each project, keeping all stakeholders informed efficiently.
- Own the project budget and CAPEX requirements, ensuring financial discipline and alignment with business objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver Level 0–2 project plans, prioritising and escalating unresolved conflicts as needed.
- Set project direction and define team structure in collaboration with engineering/technical leads to achieve project goals.
- Ensure project KPI reporting is accurate and up to date, reflecting the true state of the project.
- Drive the adoption of development processes, engineering best practices, and discipline within the project team.
- Proactively identify and resolve project issues, ensuring robust technical risk management and requirements traceability.
- Coach and mentor junior project managers and team members, supporting their professional development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance within the project team.
- First Degree (Engineering preferable) or equivalent.
- Formal Project Management training/qualifications. PMI’s PMP certification is not mandatory but a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project and Teams.
- Demonstrated understanding of other commonly used project development tools and methodologies – e.g. Atlassian’s Confluence & JIRA
- Demonstrated ability to independently deliver complex engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of risk management, requirements management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Limited working / business level proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese to manage China based suppliers.
- Minimum of 3 years’ project management experience in a high-technology engineering field, demonstrating a solid understanding of the complete project lifecycle.
- Experience coaching or guiding junior team members.
- Outstanding project management capabilities and in-depth knowledge of fundamental PM principles (estimating and planning, risk management, status reporting, budget tracking, benefits analysis, stakeholder management and communication, resource management).
