Key Responsibilities
- Lead high-priority and complex data science projects that impact organizational decision-making.
- Develop custom data models, algorithms, and analytical solutions for business needs.
- Perform research, analysis, predictive modeling, data mining, visualization, and pattern analysis.
- Develop and test hypotheses and communicate findings in a clear, actionable manner.
- Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques, including regression, clustering, forecasting, A/B testing, and statistical testing.
- Analyze structured and unstructured data from large, complex, and sometimes incomplete sources.
- Evaluate existing models and assess their accuracy and effectiveness.
- Identify and resolve data quality and data process issues while improving efficiency, scalability, and productivity.
- Partner with business and technical teams to gather requirements and identify opportunities where data science can improve operations.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior and executive-level leadership.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to other data scientists and team members.
- Assist with the evaluation of data science tools, technologies, vendors, and solutions.
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality deliverables and deadlines.
- Translate complex technical information and analytical results into meaningful business insights.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related STEM field.
- 7+ years of professional data science experience.
- Strong programming and statistical analysis skills.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Strong understanding of machine learning techniques and their practical applications, including clustering, decision trees, artificial neural networks, and predictive modeling.
- Strong knowledge of advanced statistical concepts and methods, including regression, statistical testing, distributions, forecasting, and A/B testing.
- Experience working with large, complex, and incomplete datasets.
- Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong presentation skills and comfort presenting insights to senior and executive-level leadership.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Data Science or a related field.
- Experience working in a hospital, healthcare, medical informatics, healthcare IT, healthcare finance/revenue cycle, or EHR data environment.
- Experience applying data science to healthcare operations or business challenges.
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other data scientists.
