The Lead Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing secure cloud solutions that protect the organization's data and systems. The Lead Cloud Security Engineer works with other IT teams and business stakeholders to identify, analyze, and resolve complex security challenges and risks in the cloud environment. They also provide guidance and best practices on cloud security to the organization and ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement secure cloud solutions that align with the organization's cloud strategy and security standards.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits of the cloud environment and identify gaps and vulnerabilities.
  • Recommend and implement security controls and remediation actions to mitigate risks and enhance security posture.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and events in the cloud environment and coordinate with other IT teams and external partners as needed.
  • Research and evaluate emerging cloud security technologies and trends and provide recommendations for improvement and innovation.
  • Develop and maintain cloud security policies, procedures, and documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional team discussions around adoption of modern cloud security practices in alignment with best practices and driven by experience.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for cloud security in modernization and net new solution architecture.
  • Partner with cloud service provider team to capture, communicate, and lead internal adoption of modern best practices.
  • Provide cloud security training and awareness to the organization and promote a culture of security.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 2 years of experience in cloud security.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in cloud platforms, such as Azure, and cloud security tools and services.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in cloud security best practices, frameworks, and standards, such as NIST, ISO, CSA, or CIS.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in security domains, such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, network security, application security, and incident response.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to lead complex security projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Associate-level Azure certification is preferred. 
  • Skills and Qualifications Preferred
  • 3+ years supporting enterprise cloud environments
  • 5+ years in IT Security
  • 7+ years in IT 

Certifications

  • Associate Azure Certification:
  • Azure Administration (AZ-104) or Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500) preferred.
  • Work Conditions
  • Meetings to be held outside of core working hours to adjust to other group companies’ time zones.
  • Local Hybrid preferred, but full remote is an option.
