JOB PURPOSE:

The Lead Clinician provides a combination of program oversight, staff supervision, and direct service provision for a micro community focused on recovery. This position will deliver care and provide expert support to an interdisciplinary team focused on promoting recovery from substance abuse. The clinical supervisor will ensure that other clinicians are providing treatment in compliance with established protocol and policy. The ideal candidate will have training and experience in treating serious mental illness, and/or substance abuse recovery with demonstrated proficient in delivering evidence-based care to those experiencing housing instability and other community members.

QualificationsESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide direct service, perform, and document the intake assessment for clients as needed.
  • Complete treatment appropriate screenings, psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, electronic health record documents and document progress.
  • Provide individual or group psychotherapy to clients, with a focus on delivering evidence-based treatments, trauma informed, evidence-informed and in collaboration with the Endeavors Wellness Model.
  • Meet regularly clinical providers to staff caseloads, review high risk clients, and keep abreast of urgent client current issues.
  • Keep clinical providers informed of program information.
  • Work with leadership to establish training and development plan for staff.
  • Provide quality assurance and regulatory compliance to client files.
  • Provide on-going program evaluation and recommendations to BH Leadership for continuous growth and quality.
  • Prepare and submit monthly program reports.
  • Generate KPI, Outcome and / or other reports as requested.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with other specialties to provide the best care to clients as needed.
  • Attend administrative meetings with program Leadership and provide subject matter expertise in:

  • Perform other duties as required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION

Master’s degree in social work or counseling.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of five years of experience in a clinical setting is required. Minimum of two years of supervisory experience is preferred. Experience working with adults, couples, or families is required; experience working with children and adolescents preferred. Knowledge in DSM-5 diagnoses is required; Experience in serious mental illness diagnosis and treatment is required; Experience in substance abuse disorder treatment, co-occurring diagnosis and treatment and substance abuse recovery treatment is required; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Must be highly organized and detail oriented.

Preferred
  • Two or more years of clinical supervisory experience.
  • Residential substance use disorder treatment experience.
  • Experience with ASAM-based programs or levels of care.
  • Experience in community behavioral health.
  • Experience serving individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
  • Experience with opioid use disorder and medication for opioid use disorder.
  • Experience working within Medicaid-funded behavioral-health services.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems and clinical quality-assurance activities.
LICENSES

Current license to practice as a New Mexico Social Worker or Professional Counselor to include the Supervisor credential required (LCSW-S or LPC-S).

WORK LOCATION

In office.

VEHICLE

Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice and possess a valid driver’s license.

OTHER

Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must be available and willing to work nights and weekends as required to meet business needs. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.

Employee should expect to work one evening a week to accommodate the schedules of the clients being served.

Skills Required

  • Master’s degree equivalent in psychology, social work, professional counseling, marriage and family counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • At least five years of experience in a clinical setting
  • Experience working with adults, couples, and families
  • Strong knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnoses
  • Clinical experience with trauma-related conditions, including PTSD
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Current independent license to practice counseling: LPC, LCSW, or LMFT
  • Driver’s license with clear record
  • Reliable transportation
  • At least two years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with children and adolescents
  • Experience with substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions
  • Experience with evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, CPT, or PE
  • Board-approved supervisor status, such as LPC-S, LCSW-S, or LMFT-S
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as needed
