Job Overview:
Cadence is seeking an experienced onsite Technical Consultant with a strong background in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), particularly within driveline and transmission analysis. This customer-facing role involves working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-value simulation, analysis, and engineering expertise.
The successful candidate will support customers directly onsite, helping them apply advanced CAE methods to solve complex engineering challenges, improve product performance, and drive successful project outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partner with the sales team to clearly demonstrate the value of Cadence Romax solutions through compelling pre-sales technical support, customer presentations, and solution demonstrations.
- Provide expert post-sales technical support to ensure successful implementation, effective adoption, and long-term customer success.
- Deliver high-quality consulting services on Romax, and where relevant Adams, projects for leading customers across a range of industries.
- Plan and deliver seminars, workshops, and training sessions that strengthen customer enablement, promote best practices, and support knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide structured customer and market feedback that helps guide product development and future enhancements.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Strong practical experience in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), gained in an industrial, consulting, or applied engineering environment.
- Solid understanding of driveline components and systems, including gears, bearings, transmissions, electric motors, and related rotating machinery.
- Good understanding of structural dynamics, with the ability to apply simulation and modelling techniques to real-world engineering challenges.
- Hands-on experience with one or more commercial CAE tools, such as Romax, Adams, MSC Nastran, or Actran.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Customer-oriented mindset, combined with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to work onsite with customers as required by the role.
Education & Professional Background:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or a closely related engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Typically, several years of relevant experience working with MBS, FEA and simulation technologies in an industrial, consulting, or customer-facing role.
Desirable / Nice to Have
- Experience or knowledge in noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) analysis.
- Experience with electric drivelines and electrified powertrain systems.
- Exposure to multibody dynamics analysis (Adams).
- Exposure to non-linear finite element analysis.
- Experience delivering technical training, workshops, seminars, or customer enablement sessions.
- Proficiency in Swedish.
- Curiosity and motivation to continuously learn new engineering methods, simulation technologies, and industry trends.
