The Annuity Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the growth of annuity sales by working closely with financial advisors and sales consultants. The first 12-18 months of this role will be spent on training and development to ultimately transitioning into a National Sales Consultant which will entail educating advisors on annuity products, providing insights to help them understand and position these products for their clients, and helping them through the sales process through consultative, needs-based discussion. The National Sales Consultant should have a strong understanding of annuity products and market trends and the ability to build relationships with advisors and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Create timely, detailed, and accurate annuity illustrations based on various product features and client scenarios.
- Address inquiries and resolve issues related to annuity illustrations, product training and other new business requirements promptly and professionally.
- Liaison between carriers, new business, advisors, and consultants to help troubleshoot issues.
- Stay up-to-date with annuity products, including any changes in features, rates, and regulations. Work with carriers to ensure marketing materials are updated and approved for use.
- Maintain and update databases with current product information, rates, and other relevant data.
- Overtime, start to provide day-to-day consultation to advisors on calls and emails, tailoring annuity recommendations based on client needs.
- Develop deep annuity product knowledge across multiple carriers and product types (primarily variable, fixed indexed, fixed, and structured annuities).
- Overtime, educate advisors on the features, benefits, and competitive positioning of annuity products via Teams/web conferencing.
- Leverage Salesforce as a territory management tool to track activity and manage pipelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably with a focus on annuities or insurance products.
- Obtaining licenses and certifications such as Series 7, LOMA, Series 63/66 within 18 months of hiring is mandatory for this role.
- Understanding of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to research and resolve problems.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate with teammates and share standard methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication, prioritization and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with annuity new business, illustration software or annuity operations.
