Position Summary:
Responsible for coordinating all aspects of lateral recruitment for the New York and Washington, D.C. offices. This position supports the Director of Lateral Recruitment and the Manager of Lateral Recruitment. Routinely interact with all legal and administrative staff in all offices.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating interview schedules and collecting evaluations.
- Greet and escort candidates to interviews and debrief candidates following interviews.
- Coordinate due diligence process, including background, conflicts and reference checks.
- Disseminates information regarding new hires to appropriate firm personnel; serve as a liaison across Recruitment, Attorney Resources, Professional Development, Practice Management teams for client satisfaction in the recruitment process.
- Maintain candidate files; ensuring best practices with candidate tracking for accuracy.
- Maintain and track lateral attorney referrals; process referral bonus payments.
- Coordinate all aspects of off-track and temporary attorney searches.
- Maintain and update recruitment database.
- Monitor and process invoices and expense reimbursements.
- Monitor and maintain search firm fee agreements.
- Assist with industry surveys, as well as internal surveys.
- Proactively maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and best practices.
- Assist the Director of Lateral Recruitment and Manager of Lateral Recruitment as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience: Minimum of two years of relevant legal recruitment experience.
Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing and oral communication skills; high-energy level; ability to work with attorneys and staff of all levels and personalities; team player; reliable. Must be highly motivated, creative and results-oriented; ability to work with minimum supervision. Ability to act in a fair, equitable and professional manner at all times. Ability to act effectively and appropriately to deliver tough messages when necessary. Ability to assess a situation, use sound judgment in resolving problems and determine appropriate actions to be taken. The Lateral Recruitment Assistant has access to sensitive and confidential information and the position requires a high level of confidentiality and discretion. Proficiency with Word and Excel. All positions require punctuality and regular attendance.
The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
New York Salary Range
$55,000—$65,000 USD
