About the opportunity:
Ericsson is seeking an experienced L2 Operations Engineer with deep expertise in the NetCracker BSS suite to support 2nd-level assurance, incident and problem management, system administration, and billing operations. The role requires hands-on technical experience across NetCracker components, UNIX/Linux platforms, signalling protocols and telecom network performance. You will provide production support in a 24/7 environment and act as a primary escalation point for customers.
Core responsibilities:
Own operational health and stability of the production environment; provide proactive monitoring and assurance activities.
Lead technical triage, coordinate investigations, drive incident resolution and perform root-cause analysis across NetCracker components (CRM, Billing, Order Management, etc.).
Manage end-to-end bill run activities (mid-month and month-end), including pre-bill checks, mock bill runs and post-bill validations.
Perform Linux/Unix administration, troubleshoot performance issues, resolve bottlenecks and tune the platform using scripting and database tools.
Coordinate and execute releases, patches and configuration changes with minimal service disruption; validate post-change behavior.
Act as main point of contact for internal teams and clients; build strong relationships with customer IT/business stakeholders and advocate for customer needs.
Maintain runbooks, produce post-incident reports and contribute to process and automation improvements.
Required experience & skills:
4-8+ years of progressive technical/application support experience within the BSS/OSS domain.
Strong domain knowledge of NetCracker BSS Suite (OCS, CSRD, TOMS, NRM, RBM, B2B).
Proficiency in Unix/Linux administration and Shell/Perl scripting.
Solid SQL skills for billing investigations and database analysis.
Experience analyzing system performance using thread-dump analysis, monitoring tools and database investigation techniques.
Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written English; proven customer-facing communication skills.
Desirable:
Degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications or equivalent experience.
Prior exposure to telecom signalling protocols and network performance concepts.
Relevant certifications (Linux, scripting, NetCracker training).
