This is an excellent opportunity for telecom professionals looking to deepen their expertise in transmission networks while contributing to Ericsson's vision of a fully connected, intelligent world.
What You Will Do
Alarm Monitoring & Fault Management• Perform 24x7 alarm monitoring and first-level fault management (L1FM) across Transmission network elements• Identify, classify, and prioritize alarms - critical, major, and minor - impacting transmission services• Perform alarm correlation and event filtering to isolate root causes before L2/L3 escalation• Detect service-impacting transmission faults and initiate timely incident response
Transmission Domain Coverage
Monitor and manage alarms across the following transmission technologies:
SDH- LOS, LOF, AIS, RDI alarms; MSP/SNCP protection switching events; fiber & transmission faults
PDH- E1/T1 degradation, synchronization and framing issues
DWDM- Optical power alarms, wavelength failures, amplifier/transponder faults, fiber cut identification
MW- Link degradation, RSL alarms, rain fade events, equipment faults
IP/MPLS- Link down alarms, LSP failures, interface utilization alerts
Incident Management• Create and manage incident tickets accurately in ITSM/ticketing tools (BMC Remedy, JIRA)• Capture detailed fault descriptions, impact assessments, and troubleshooting notes• Assign and escalate tickets to L2/L3 transmission teams within defined SLAs• Track incidents end-to-end and ensure timely resolution and closure
Escalation & Communication• Escalate critical transmission faults to L2/L3 teams per the defined escalation matrix• Provide regular and accurate updates to stakeholders during major outages• Participate in shift handovers with clear documentation of open and ongoing issues• Prepare and distribute incident notifications, outage reports, and RFO (Reason for Outage) summaries
