What you’ll do

As a Key Account Manager at AstraZeneca, you will establish and nurture long-term relationships with key institutional customers, utilizing an approved mix of engagement channels. You’ll be responsible for driving business opportunities, providing valuable market insights, coordinating sales activities, and championing selected AstraZeneca products. Through collaboration with cross-functional colleagues, you’ll support disease awareness, early diagnosis, and timely treatment—always putting patients first. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators and monitoring competitor activities, you will ensure excellence in execution while upholding the highest ethical, legislative, and company standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and develop enduring relationships with targeted key customers in line with AstraZeneca’s business and therapy area strategy.
  • Analyze customer insights, map needs, and engage through appropriate channels to maximize regional business potential.
  • Plan, execute, and adapt sales activities to achieve ambitious targets and support successful marketing programs.
  • Proactively promote AstraZeneca products in line with approved materials and regulatory (SmPC) guidelines, driving disease awareness and education.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and cross-functional colleagues on marketing activities, providing feedback to optimize impact.
  • Monitor and report on market dynamics, competitive activities, and key performance indicators.
  • Follow high ethical standards and compliance with local and European regulations, EFPIA, AIFP, and AstraZeneca’s internal policies.
  • Coordinate business offers and sales support, ensuring a smooth customer experience from proposal to delivery.
  • Safeguard product quality and safety by reporting any safety information or suspected defects promptly in line with AstraZeneca procedures.

Your profile

  • Experience in Key Account Management, business development, or institutional sales within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
  • University degree is required, within a Healthcare related subject
  • Track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Passion for science and committed to make a positive personal impact;
  • Curiousness and learning agility;
  • Strong ability, or potential to develop it, in engaging and influencing decision making among key stakeholders in complex clinical environments, e.g., mid and senior level specialty care professionals, key accounts in the medical community;
  • Collaborative and inclusive: exercise anticipation and responsiveness to the needs of others; ability to modify own approach to different people;
  • Ability to analyze problems and focus on finding solutions - identify the key issues that need action and consider options from a variety of angles in order to identify an innovative solution;
  • Able to use balanced reasons and metrics to recommend actions and support decision-making
  • Resourceful and tenacious in approaching problems and leveraging all available resources for developing solutions;
  • Fluent Hungarian and intermediate English and literacy in common corporate technology
