Junior QA Engineer - Automation

About the role:

As a Junior QA Automation Engineer on the Reflect team, you will play a key role in shaping and evolving a product that helps thousands of teams achieve high test coverage with minimal manual effort. You will own the automation quality strategy end-to-end, architect robust test frameworks, and work closely with engineering and product stakeholders to ensure Reflect continues to deliver a best-in-class experience.

  • Reporting to the QA Lead, you will define and drive the automation roadmap, communicate risks, and ensure quality gates are met across releases.
  • You will own the design and architecture of test automation frameworks and integrate them seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines.
  • You will mentor junior QA engineers, conduct test design reviews, and champion best practices across the team.
  • You will lead shift-left testing practices, embedding quality early in the development lifecycle within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • You will contribute to validating core Reflect capabilities including AI-driven test creation, cloud-based test execution, visual testing, and cross-browser/mobile coverage

Experience & Background

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in software test automation
  • Proven experience designing and architecting automation frameworks from scratch
  • Strong experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies using Jira
  • Prior experience testing SaaS or cloud-based products is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in SeleniumPlaywright, or Cypressusing Python or Java — writing clean, maintainable, and reusable automation code
  • Ability to automate across web, API, and mobile platforms
  • Familiarity with no-code or AI-driven test automation tools (experience with Reflect or similar platforms is a bonus)
  • Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Bamboo
  • Deep understanding of REST principles and JSON-based data handling
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills — able to influence quality decisions at the project level
  • Experience with API testing tools such as RestAssured, Karate, or Postman
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized test environments
  • Experience with cloud-based testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior QA engineers
