The Role

As a Data & AI Consultant, you will help financial institutions modernize their analytical landscape by designing and implementing scalable data solutions, cloud-based applications, and AI-enabled workflows.

You will work closely with consultants, quantitative experts, actuaries, and clients to transform existing analytical models into modern, maintainable, and production-ready solutions. This includes migrating complex Excel-based models to cloud platforms, building robust data pipelines, and enabling organizations to leverage AI and advanced analytics effectively.

What You Will Do
  • Design, build and maintain modern data solutions for clients in insurance and financial services.
  • Help migrate analytical and financial models from Excel and legacy environments to cloud-based platforms, primarily Microsoft Azure.
  • Develop scalable data pipelines and workflows for processing and managing large datasets.
  • Design efficient data structures, databases, and data architectures.
  • Support the implementation of AI and machine learning solutions within client environments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate business challenges into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to software development, automation, testing, and deployment of analytical applications.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies in cloud computing, AI, and data engineering.
What We Are Looking For

We are looking for technically strong candidates who enjoy solving complex problems and are excited by the opportunities that AI and cloud technologies create.

Required

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Econometrics, or another quantitative or technical discipline.
  • Strong programming skills, preferably in Python.
  • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, including databases, SQL, data modelling, and data structures.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Affinity with software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary consulting teams.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.

Preferred

  • Experience with AI, machine learning, or large language model (LLM) applications.
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Functions, Synapse, or similar cloud technologies.
  • Experience with containerization and DevOps tooling.
  • Familiarity with financial services, insurance, risk management, or quantitative modelling.
  • Knowledge of actuarial modelling or financial mathematics is considered an advantage but is not required.
