We are seeking a Data Science Consultant to support our Army Client. This is a hybrid position and the candidate will be required to work from the client location in Crystal City, Arlington VA at least 2 days a week.
- Design new solutions using Databricks (SQL, Python, Pyspark) and Palantir Foundry to deliver capabilities meeting business functional requirements.
- Design modifications to existing data model solutions as needed.
- Define test cases and verify test results to ensure solutions are functioning as designed.
- Build data models and reports using datasets from ERPs and legacy systems.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and users to determine reporting requirements and convert business requirements into technical specifications.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years hands on development experience
- Proficiency in SQL, Python and Pyspark.
- Experience working in data engineering, data science and data analytics. Note that this is not a Cloud Full Stack developer role.
- Familiarity with Databricks
- Familiarity with database design and architecture; relational and non-relational databases
- Ability to work cross-functionally, and participate in discussions
- Knowledge of cloud architecture: commercial cloud vendors (AWS/Azure)
- Competence with software engineering tools and processes (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging, etc.)
- Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks without any supervision.
- Proven experience in knowledge sharing (i.e., code reviews, solid documentation)
- Driven, self-directed personality
- Strong sense of mission and commitment to making a difference
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Active Secret Clearance
