About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Australian Conveyancing Paralegal to support property transactions from contract exchange through to post-settlement. You will assist with file management, conveyancing documents, property searches, settlement preparation, client communication and coordination with banks, brokers, agents and government authorities. You will also help manage deadlines, workflows and matter progression to ensure each transaction moves smoothly and accurately.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented and confident communicating with clients and third parties. You will receive training in Australian conveyancing processes and systems, with the opportunity to progressively take greater ownership of matters and build a long-term career in conveyancing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Australian residential conveyancing matters from exchange or unconditional contract through to post-settlement, including file opening, file management, file notes, stamp duty documentation and preparation of conveyancing documents.
  • Coordinate property searches, preparation of settlement adjustments, settlement figures and PEXA settlements, while liaising with clients and relevant third parties throughout the transaction.
  • Responding to client enquiries and providing professional customer service throughout the conveyancing process.
  • Managing internal workflows, task lists and calendar deadlines to ensure timely progression of matters.
  • Support business development, marketing and client relationship initiatives as required.
  • Conduct legal and procedural research and provide administrative and legal support as required.

RequirementsRequired Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional, legal, financial services or commercial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating professionally with clients and third parties by email and telephone.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Accounting, Management or a related field preferred.
Favorable Experience
  • Previous experience in Australian residential conveyancing or within an Australian law firm, accounting firm or professional services business.
  • Familiarity with New South Wales, Queensland or Victorian conveyancing processes.
  • Experience using PEXA, Smokeball, InfoTrack or similar legal or conveyancing software.
  • Experience liaising with banks, mortgage brokers, real estate agents, clients and government authorities.
  • Experience preparing conveyancing documents, settlement adjustments, file notes or legal correspondence.
Required Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, thoroughly proofread work.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time-management skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Sound professional judgement and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong research skills and the initiative to learn unfamiliar concepts independently.
  • Sound judgement and attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential issues and raise them early.
