DESCRIPTION
The primary duties of the System Administrator involve providing support on all company technology applications and hardware supported by the Information Technology department. This includes administration of the network, server, desktop, storage and backup infrastructures.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Maintain, upgrade, build, implement users, desktops and servers in a Windows/Office 365 Domain.
- Configure and support VMware infrastructure.
- Manage network infrastructure consisting of Fortinet, Cisco and Meraki devices.
- Administer storage infrastructure consisting of Compellent.
- Maintain daily Veeam backup and disaster recovery operations.
- Perform daily monitoring of company infrastructure.
- Daily resolution of tickets and issues sent to the IT Operations Team.
- Develop, maintain, and contribute to procedures documentation.
- Assist Applications Team with UNIX, SQL and Java based applications.
- Participate in bi-weekly on-call schedule. Must be willing to work hours in excess of the normal working hour schedule and be available for call-in problems as required.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree preferred, not required. Two years related experience and/or training/certifications; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
- A+, Network+, Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications preferred.
- Familiarity with DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP, and SSL.
- Expert knowledge of Windows Server systems (Win 2012, 2016, 2019)
- Familiarity with Cisco, FortiGate and Meraki network appliances.
- Experience with VMware, VMware Horizon and Veeam technologies.
- Understanding of SQL Database and basic query skills.
- Knowledge of UNIX, Java, HTML and Python a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including documentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.
- Regular use of ladders and lifts to reach hardware located in high ceilings.
- Must be comfortable in an industrial environment.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
