About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented, highly analytical Finance Intern to join our team. In this role, you won't just file paperwork—you will gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in financial analysis, core accounting operations, accounts payable, and tax support. You will work closely with senior accountants
and finance manager, directly contributing to day-to-day corporate financial operations and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP) Processing:
o Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system with high accuracy.
o Match purchase orders, receiving reports, and invoices (3-way matching) to resolve discrepancies.
o Assist with the bi-monthly payment run prep and vendor reconciliation regarding payment statuses.
Tax Compliance & Reporting Support:
o Assist in preparing supporting schedules and documentation for quarterly/annual tax filings.
o Help collect and verify tax forms from new vendors to maintain tax compliance.
o Perform routine tax research on local and BIR regulations as needed.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
o Assist in analyzing financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and building basic financial models.
o Track actual performance against budget/forecasts and highlight key drivers and discrepancies (Variance Analysis).
Data Management & Process Improvement:
o Clean, structure, and analyze financial datasets to support monthly close and KPI reporting.
o Identify opportunities to streamline AP workflows and tax documentation using modern automation tools.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
o Solid foundation in core accounting principles (debits/credits, accruals, GL structure) and basic tax concepts.
o Knowledge or Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic financial functions).
o Familiarity with accounting/ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is a strong plus.
Soft Skills:
o High attention to detail (crucial for invoice matching and tax documentation).
o Strong numerical reasoning and organizational skills.
o Eagerness to learn and maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial data.
