Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized On-the-job trainee (OJT) who will learn essential work skills by performing real tasks in Accounting – Accounts Payable under the guidance of an Senior AP Assistant.
Learning and Active Participation:
- Shadow mentor: Observe experienced AP Assistant to understand daily workflows, standard procedures, and quality expectations.
- Complete assigned tasks: Practice AP job responsibilities under direct supervision before moving to independent work.
- Participate in feedback loops: Listen to constructive feedback from trainers and apply corrections immediately to improve performance.
- Track progress: Maintain training logs, checklists, or portfolios required by the employer or an educational institution.
What you’ll be doing:
- Verify straight forward supplier’s invoices in AX (Garrets tool with restrictions to verifying invoices only)
- Posting of invoice stock corrections.
- Clear invoices stuck in readsoft (Garrets tool).
- Ask for statement of account from vendors.
- Follow-up on missing vendor statements.
- Attend/participate in the formal and face-to-face training process.
- Abide by the policies and procedures outlined by Garrets.
- Complete tasks, assessments, assignments, etc.,
- Keep and update progress on a copy of the training plan/record.
- If the trainee is under 18, a parent or guardian must co-sign the training contract.
What we're looking for:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office - including Excel
- Familiar with finance process
- Business level communication in English, both written and spoken
- Currently studying university degree or similar within Finance / Accounting/Business Administration
- Driven by the field of Finance with a business mindset
- Ability to collaboratively work in a diverse, cross-functional and international environment

- Good moral character
- Endorsement from the school dean/head
