Team Overview
The TransUnion Hong Kong New Product Initiatives team is responsible for designing and delivering innovative products that drive business growth and enhance customer value. The team focuses on building scalable web-based solutions while modernizing and integrating with existing platforms. This role reports to the Development Manager and contributes directly to end-to-end product development within a collaborative agile environment This job is assigned as On-Site Essential and requires in- person work at an assigned TU office location as a condition of employment.Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
- Deliver assigned projects and tasks within agreed timelines, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with the agile scrum team to design, build, and enhance new and existing web applications.
- Participate across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, system design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
- Perform hands-on coding and contribute to building scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients to enable seamless system integration and interoperability.
- Conduct unit testing, code scans, and ensure adherence to quality and security standards.
- Present system designs and code changes during team reviews to maintain coding standards and continuous improvement.
- Provide UAT and BAU support, ensuring system stability and issue resolution in production environments.
- Maintain clear technical documentation for developed systems and processes.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
Required Knowledge and Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technology disciplines, providing foundational knowledge in software engineering principles and system design.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in application development, enabling the ability to independently deliver complex systems and enhancements.
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, including agile frameworks, to effectively contribute across development and delivery cycles.
- Experience in web application development and system integration, supporting modern, scalable product ecosystems.
- Familiarity with application security practices, helping identify and remediate vulnerabilities in production systems.
Required Technical Skills
- Java and Spring Framework (including Spring Boot) for backend application development.
- Apache Tomcat for application deployment and management.
- PostgreSQL database for data management and persistence.
- Linux operating systems and shell scripting for environment management and operations.
- Git-based version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket) for source code management and collaboration.
