POSITION PURPOSE

Strategic Execution & Management, Corporate Strategy: Within the Strategy function, this organization plays a central role in leading the formulation and execution of company-wide strategy to realize mid- to long-term global growth, grounded in Santen’s corporate philosophy and Vision. As a core member of this team, which consists of approximately 3–5 members, this position works closely with senior management to identify and structure management issues from an enterprise-wide perspective and takes end-to-end ownership—from developing actionable solutions to driving execution and delivering tangible results.

• Examine business strategies and the business portfolio from a company-wide perspective, and identify key issues in advancing the Mid-Term Management Plan.
• Organize enterprise-wide management challenges, develop and drive the execution of solutions, and manage progress and outcomes through the PDCA cycle, while overseeing company-wide strategic projects.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibility for Strategy Formulation and Execution

• Lead the development of the Company-wide mid-term management plan, working in close partnership with the executive team to translate the Santen Group’s mid- to long-term growth strategy into concrete actions.
• Define the organizational design, capabilities, and decision-making mechanisms required for strategy execution, and build structures and operating models that are explicitly oriented toward execution and value creation.
• Collect and analyze a broad range of quantitative and qualitative information on the internal and external business environment (including markets, competitors, regulations, and macroeconomic factors), and structure the key management issues.
• Go beyond analysis to provide clear recommendations on management decisions and resource allocation priorities, thereby contributing to the acceleration of decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with the Finance and Corporate Administration function to formulate company-wide committed financial targets (including revenue, profit, and capital efficiency).
• Cascade these targets into KPIs for each function and lead company-wide management by ensuring strong alignment between strategy and financial metrics through rigorous KPI management.
   

Management and Business Process Transformation

• In order to deliver the mid-term management plan, design and drive the implementation of advanced management control methods and governance frameworks that strengthen financial and investment discipline.
• Lead the transformation of decision-making processes so that growth investments, costs, and human capital are prioritized and allocated from a company-wide, optimization-focused perspective.
• Navigate complex and often conflicting interests across functions and regions by leading issue structuring and consensus-building, enabling timely decision-making and execution.
• Drive strategy end-to-end, ensuring it is not confined to planning but is firmly executed on the ground and ultimately reflected in P/L performance and KPIs.

Strategic Execution & Management, Corporate Strategyは、全社の経営戦略策定を担うCorporate Strategy部門内の組織で、参天製薬の基本理念およびVisionに基づき、中長期的なグローバル成長の実現に向けて、全社戦略の策定・実行を主導する。本ポジションは、同チーム（3~5名程度で構成）の中核メンバーとして、経営層と緊密に連携し、全社視点で経営課題を特定・構造化した上で、実行可能な解決策の立案から推進、成果創出までを一貫して牽引する。

• 全社視点に基づく事業戦略・事業ポートフォリオを検討し、中期経営計画の推進における主要課題を抽出する。
• 全社的な経営課題を整理し、解決策の立案・実行を推進するとともに、PDCAを通じて進捗・成果を管理し、全社プロジェクトの運営を担う。

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

戦略策定・実行責任

• 全社の中期経営計画の策定を主導し、経営陣と緊密に連携しながら、Santenグループの中長期的な成長戦略を具体的なアクションへと落とし込む。
• 戦略実行に必要となる組織設計、ケイパビリティおよび意思決定メカニズムを定義し、実行および成果創出を前提とした仕組み・体制を構築する。
• 社内外の事業環境（市場、競合、規制、マクロ環境等）に関する定量・定性情報を幅広く収集・分析し、経営上の重要論点を構造化する。
• 分析にとどまらず、経営としての意思決定事項および資源配分の方向性について明確な示唆を提供し、意思決定の推進に貢献する。
• また、財務・管理本部と協働し、全社としてコミットする財務目標（売上・利益・資本効率等）を策定する。
• これらを各部門のKPIへと落とし込み、厳格なKPIマネジメントを通じて、戦略と数値の整合性を担保した経営運営をリードする。

経営・業務プロセス変革

• 中期経営計画の実現に向け、財務・投資規律を強化するための経営管理手法およびガバナンスの高度化を企画し、導入を推進する。
• 成長投資、コスト、人材等の経営資源について、全社最適の観点から優先順位付けおよび意思決定が行われるプロセスへの変革を主導する。
• 部門・地域をまたぐ複雑な利害関係の中で、論点整理および合意形成をリードし、タイムリーな意思決定と実行を実現する。

戦略を計画にとどめることなく、現場で確実に実行され、結果としてP/LおよびKPIに反映されるまでを一気通貫で推進する。

Experience

• Practical experience (approximately 3 or more years) in developing and executing enterprise-level strategies at a strategy consulting firm or within corporate planning / strategy functions of a business company
• Experience leading cross-functional projects related to corporate or business strategy
• Hands-on experience not limited to strategy formulation, but extending through execution and value creation, including KPI design, progress management, and decision-making support
• Professional experience in the pharmaceutical and/or life sciences industry

Problem-Solving Skills

• Ability to structure complex and highly uncertain management issues, clarify key priorities, and derive sound conclusions
• Capability to integrate quantitative and qualitative information and present clear, actionable options regarding “what management needs to decide”
• Intellectual stamina to think through the entire process end-to-end, from hypothesis formulation and validation to decision-making and execution

Financial Acumen

• Solid understanding of management-related financials, including business planning, profit and loss structures, investment decision-making, and capital efficiency
• Ability to design and operate numerical metrics not merely as outcome indicators, but as management KPIs that drive strategy and behavior

Communication and Leadership

• Ability to engage in peer-level discussions with executives and senior leaders, and to move consensus forward even amid differing opinions and conflicting interests
• Leadership to drive decision-making and execution while engaging stakeholders across global regions, including overseas markets
• Strong communication skills to prepare decision-making materials for senior management and convey complex topics clearly, concisely, logically, and persuasively without ambiguity

Language

• Business proficiency in both Japanese and English, with the ability to lead explanations, discussions, and decision-making with senior management and stakeholders in both languages
