Power BI Developer（Senior）– Job Description
This is a contractor role.
1. Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives. The role focuses on delivering high-quality dashboards, optimizing performance, and enabling effective data-driven decision-making across business functions.
2. Key Responsibilities
Dashboard Development & Delivery
- Design and develop business dashboards to meet user needs, including but not limited to:
- Executive summary dashboards for required KPIs
- Yearly / Monthly / Daily trend analysis
- Comparison and performance tracking dashboards
- Ensure dashboards provide clear insights and support business decision-making
User Experience & Design
- Design and deliver user-friendly, intuitive dashboard layouts
- Translate business requirements into clear visual storytelling and data presentation
Performance Optimization
- Analyze and optimize Power BI datasets and models to improve performance
- Clean up unnecessary data and objects to ensure:
- Stable report performance
- Accurate and reliable data display
- Apply best practices in data modeling and report design
Ad-hoc Development Support
- Provide flexible support for ad-hoc reporting and dashboard development requests
- Quickly respond to emerging business needs
3. Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Power BI development
- Strong expertise in:
- Power BI data modeling
- DAX and performance tuning
- Report optimization and troubleshooting
- Proven ability to independently deliver end-to-end BI solutions
Business Understanding
- Strong ability to understand business requirements without a dedicated Business Analyst
- Experience translating business needs into analytical solutions
- Experience in Finance domain reporting/dashboard development is a plus
4. Language Requirements
- Native Chinese speaker
- English proficiency (reading & writing required)
- Spoken English is a strong plus
5. Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Good business acumen and problem-solving capability
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
6. Preferred Experience
- Experience with Snowflake / SAP / ERP data integration
- Exposure to enterprise-level data platforms and large-scale datasets
- Experience working in global or cross-region teams
7. Working Conditions
- Working Hours: Aligned with JCI standard working hours
- Working Location: Onsite at Dalian Tengfei office
Skills Required
- Senior Power BI developer with more than 5 years relevant experience
- Very familiar with Power BI data modeling
- Experienced in Power BI performance improvements and optimization
- Able to deliver business reporting requirements and adhoc dashboard development
- Native Chinese language
- English reading and writing
- Good oral English
- Strong business understanding and communication (no dedicated BA)
- Experience in finance domain reporting/dashboard development
- Follow JCI working hours (8:00~17:00 or 8:30~17:30)
- Work onsite at DL Tengfei office
- Willingness to undergo two to three interview rounds before onboarding
