What you will do. A glimpse into your role:
As a System Engineer – Patch Management, you will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Windows patching across Global Blue. Your mission is to ensure a secure, compliant, and up‑to‑date server and client ecosystem by managing and optimizing the patching lifecycle through Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
In this role, you will work within Global Blue’s Compute Services team, supporting core infrastructure components and collaborating closely with security, application, and network teams. Experience with Citrix is a plus, but a proactive willingness to learn is just as valuable.

Patch Management (Primary Focus)
Act as service owner and SME for Windows patching using SCCM or related technologies.
Plan, schedule, deploy, and monitor security and quality updates for Windows servers and clients.
Optimize and maintain SCCM infrastructure components supporting patching activities.
Define and implement patching strategies, baselines, automation workflows, and compliance reporting.
Troubleshoot patch deployment issues and collaborate with application/operations teams to ensure timely remediation.
Ensure patching practices meet corporate security standards and compliance requirements.
Citrix (Nice to Have)
Support Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops and VDI environments (user sessions, VDAs, apps, profiles).
Execute updates, troubleshoot problems, and optimize performance in Citrix environments.
Compute Services Engineering
Support Global Blue’s IT infrastructure, including Windows Server, RHEL, and VMware components.
Collaborate closely with network, security, and application teams.
Potentially participate in an on‑call rotation for infrastructure support.
Contribute to process automation using PowerShell or similar scripting tools.
Maintain detailed operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures.

Skills
Required Technical Skills
Solid experience as a System Engineer in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of:
Windows Server administration
SCCM for software updates and device management
WSUS, update compliance, and distribution point management
PowerShell or scripting for automation
Broad IT infrastructure understanding (networking basics, virtualization, monitoring, security fundamentals)
Preferred Technical Skills
Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, VDI, FSLogix, and related technologies.
Familiarity with patching in hybrid/cloud environments (e.g., Azure).
Understanding of vulnerability management tools such as Qualys.
ITIL knowledge.
Qualifications and education requirements
Solid professional experience as a System Engineer (enterprise-level experience preferred).
Demonstrated hands-on experience with SCCM-based patch management.
Practical automation/scripting experience (PowerShell or similar).
Strong English communication skills (spoken and written).
