Complete an internship project at SOPHiA GENETICS whose mission is to build the future of AI-assisted medicine, joining the IT Services Team as an IT Support Specialist Intern.
You will assist with optimizing and automating our internal service desk portal and contribute to improving the IT support experience across the company. You will work closely with the IT team to ensure smooth operations, enhance the user experience, and contribute to IT solutions that streamline workflows within SOPHiA GENETICS.
You will be involved in:
- Assisting with the monitoring and management of the internal helpdesk, responding to IT requests from employees and reporting key metrics.
- Supporting the configuration of role-based access control (RBAC), user accounts, and access permissions.
- Contributing to Information Security & Network Operations, helping maintain secure and efficient IT systems.
- Supporting asset management, MDM (JAMF) configuration, and automation of asset management processes.
- Assisting with systems administration (Azure Cloud) and automation tasks, including scripting innovative IT solutions.
- Using project tracking and issue management software, such as Jira Cloud, to manage and report on IT support activities.
The experience you bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience with system administration is desirable.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Apple environments.
- Some knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash/Shell, Python) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

- Mastering the widely used bug/issue tracking and agile project management tool, Jira by Atlassian
- Gaining proficiency in IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices
- Developing skills in System Integration and Administration
- Learning to automate tasks through scripting
