The IT Senior Quality Assurance Specialist primary responsibility is to lead the FWD UAT execution, planning & resourcing for the FWD application development projects. The ideal candidate will be coordinating the strategy and planning of SIT and UAT with various participating business units.
The role will conduct or lead all project testing activities within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) which covers various types of testing, as needed (Regression, Functional, Systems, Stress & Scale, and Smoke & Sanity). The candidate will have experience and working knowledge of various defect management tools.

1. Application Competency
- Obtain authority on application being supported (Functional and Technical process).
- Able to help solve problems by identifying possible root cause of the issue.
- Able to gain knowledge through continuing education and experience to upskill expertise on the application being supported
2. Management Reporting
- Metrics Reporting to key stakeholders and technology partners
•    No. of test cases planned vs executed
•    No. of test cases passed/failed
•    No of defects identified and their Status & Severity
3. Project Delivery
- Test Plan / Test Approach Creation
•    Facilitate UAT Kick-off
o    Defines roles and responsibilities of testers.
o    Identifies testing participants from each business unit.
•    Identification of type of testing needs to be performed
o    Develops SIT plan and UAT strategy, including Regression Test scope, where necessary.
o    Defines test cases/scenarios that are traceable to business requirements.
•    Test Suite creation in JIRA

- Test Management
•    Test Execution monitoring
o    Leads execution of System Integration Test (SIT) and User Acceptance Test (UAT) activities.
o    Drives status meetings with the testers to track SIT/UAT progress.
o    Communicate timely status and escalation of testing issues to IT Project Manager.
•    Testing Resource management
o    Establish a constructive and collaborative working relationship with business analysts, developers, architects, project managers, and external development teams

- Defect Management
•    Lead triage calls
o    Responsible for communication of Defect Resolution Process.
•    Defect Prioritization
o    Responsible for assigning defect to designated user (developer or business unit)
•    Defect Monitoring
o    Responsible for Defect investigation, management, and assigning for retesting.
- Test Closure
•    Completion of Test Suite (all test cases should have status)
•    Defect Closure (all related to sprint/MVP)
•    Obtain UAT signoff from Business Unit Heads or delegated approvers.
•    Securing IT Approvals
•    PTF ticket creation
•    Service request ticket closure
 

Education & Certification: 
•    B.S. in Information Technology, or related field with computer applications
•    Any relevant certification is an advantage: (such as but not limited to)
o    ISTQB Certified Tester 
o    PSM (Professional Scrum Master)

Experience: 
•    At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in software testing, preferably in a Life Insurance industry setting.
•    Proficiency in MS Office Applications.
•    Experience in the following tools is an advantage:
o    Defect Tracking: JIRA
o    Documentation: Confluence
o    Automated Testing: QRace
•    Hands-on experience in Life insurance system development and implementation is an advantage
•    Able to work with less supervision
