Position Purpose:

The Developer has demonstrated a good working knowledge in at least one programming language. Has taken business requirements and turned these into detail technical design to be used as part of a system application for production. Has worked in both developing and maintaining applications for production environments. The Developer has a solid understanding of database structures, effective in documenting requirements, in testing systems, and in working with the life cycle process. Has developed code or written programs from scratch to be used in a production environment. Work to become proficient in one or more programming language within assigned technical area by performing assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • 20% Take business requirements and develop the total technical design for assigned mid-sized projects.
  • 20% Apply working knowledge of Databases in order to ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.
  • 20% Follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.
  • 20% Conduct appropriate test reviews on assigned projects as necessary. Present findings and offer solutions to management.
  • 10% Participate in daily stand-up, bi-weekly iteration planning and other as-needed face-to-face, audio- and/or video-teleconferencing sessions.
  • 10% Write clean code with good nomenclature, sensible unit, integration, and acceptance tests, and comments when necessary.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • This position will report to the Manager of Software Development.
  • This position has no direct reports.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years related experience.
  • Experience developing programs for production.
  • Demonstrated ability to take business requirements and use to formulate technical
  • design.
  • BS Computer Science or related field.
  • Agile(Scrum, XP)
  • HTML5, CSS3
  • Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development
  • JavaScript/jQuery
  • Document Database (RavenDB, Mongo, Couch, etc.)
  • JavaScript MVVM frameworks such as Knockout or Angular
  • NServiceBus

Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

  • 3

Competencies:

  • Strong web server side development skills using C# and ASP.NET MVC
  • Experience using ORM technology (NHibernate, Entity Framework) to map against a relational store (SQL Server)
  • Strong source code repository knowledge as well as branching strategies, nice to know Git
  • Ability to communicate issues and recommended solutions in a timely manner.
  • Solid experience in documenting requirements.
