Overview
NJM is accepting applications for an IT Data Science Summer Intern. This individual will work closely with data scientists, and business stakeholders to assist in data preparation, model development, and visualization efforts. The intern will gain hands-on experience with modern data science tools and techniques while contributing to real-world projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preparing structured and unstructured data for analysis.
- Support the development and testing of predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights effectively using tools like Power BI or AI/BI dashboard in Databricks.
- Write scripts in Python for data manipulation, analysis, and automation using Databricks.
- Collaborate with team members to validate model performance and document findings.
- Research emerging data science technologies and evaluate their applicability within NJM’s ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
- Current Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (3.5 or above is preferred)
- Demonstrate knowledge of Power BI and Databricks
- Demonstrate knowledge in the analytical programing knowledge of Python
- Commutable to our West Trenton, New Jersey office
The IT Data Science Intern position can pay $21-25 hour.
