iOS Developer – AI Apps

A1 is a self-funded AI group, operating in full stealth. We’re building a new global consumer AI application where iOS is a core platform, not an afterthought.

This is a founding iOS role. You’ll design AI-powered mobile systems that balance UX excellence with the realities of AI latency, streaming, and failure modes.

• You define how AI feels in users’ hands

• You bridge backend intelligence with human interaction

• You help establish iOS engineering standards from zero

• You influence product direction through what’s possible on-device

• Build and maintain iOS apps using Swift / SwiftUI

• Integrate AI-powered features via backend APIs

• Implement camera, microphone, and media pipelines

• Design UX for AI interactions (loading, streaming, retries, fallbacks)

• Optimize performance, memory, and battery usage

• Capture user feedback and signals for AI evaluation

• Collaborate with backend and AI teams on API design

• Maintain high App Store quality and production stability

• You own features end-to-end

• You design systems, not just screens

• You think deeply about latency, reliability, and UX tradeoffs

• You move fast, test in production, and iterate

• You work closely with senior engineers and founders

• 3+ years of iOS development experience (Swift)

• Hands-on experience integrating AI features

• Strong understanding of async/await and background tasks

• Experience with camera, audio, and local storage

• Solid iOS performance and memory optimization skills

• Experience shipping production apps

• Exposure to CoreML or on-device ML

• Built AI chat, voice, or streaming-based apps

• Experience with feature flags or remote config

• Strong intuition for AI UX patterns
