Purpose:
In this role, you will leverage your accounting expertise to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial operations within Pfizer's manufacturing accounting team. Your work will directly support our mission of delivering breakthroughs that change patients' lives by maintaining strong financial controls and providing critical insights into inventory and manufacturing variances.
What You Will Achieve
As an Inventory Analyst, you will play a key role in managing general ledger activities, preparing and posting manual journal entries, and analyzing manufacturing variances for P\\&L deferral and amortization recognition. You will also perform PPV (Purchase Price Variance) analysis, adjustments, and ensure compliance with SOX controls related to PPV and inventory master data (SKU).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including journal entry preparation and posting.
- Analyze manufacturing variances and ensure accurate P\\&L variance deferral and amortization recognition.
- Perform PPV analysis and adjustments; prepare SOX control documentation for PPV and inventory master data.
- Support month-end close activities and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement process improvements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate work instructions, job aids, and internal control documentation.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate information.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (completed or in progress).
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or similar role.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written) - B2 level minimum.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint required).
- Understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Hyperion Financial Management.
- Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Public accounting experience.
