Intern -Test Vehicle Driver (Tampere)

What's the role?
We are looking for an intern to support HERE's positioning and field-testing activities in Tampere by driving our full-electric HERE test vehicle and collecting high-quality test data across different real-world driving environments.
In this role, your main responsibility is to drive a large number of kilometers in urban, suburban, and other relevant road environments while following predefined test instructions. The collected data will help HERE teams validate and improve positioning technologies, location-based services, and vehicle-based data collection processes.
This role is ideal for a responsible and safety-oriented person who enjoys driving, can follow detailed instructions carefully, and is comfortable working independently in real traffic conditions.
Key responsibilities

• Drive HERE's full-electric test vehicle according to the provided test plans and route instructions.
• Collect test data by driving in urban, suburban, and other specified environments.
• Follow all safety, traffic, and operational instructions with high attention to detail.
• Drive in a calm, predictable, and professional manner at all times.
• Ensure that each test drive is completed according to the agreed process.
• Report any issues, deviations, vehicle concerns, or unusual observations during test drives.
• Support basic preparation and wrap-up activities related to data collection drives.
• Coordinate with the engineering or test team on planned routes, schedules, and test objectives.
• Help ensure that the collected data is reliable, consistent, and suitable for later analysis.

Location: Tampere, Finland
Contract duration: 3-5 months
Working arrangement: Flexible working days, 2-5 days per week
Vehicle: Full-electric HERE test vehicle
Who are you?
You are a careful, reliable, and experienced driver with a strong commitment to road safety. You understand that the quality of the test data depends not only on the kilometers driven, but also on following instructions consistently and driving safely in all conditions.
You should have:

• A valid driving license accepted in Finland.
• Practical driving experience in varied traffic environments.
• A proven safe driving history.
• Confidence driving in urban and suburban traffic.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Responsible attitude toward safety, vehicle handling, and road rules.
• Good attention to detail and patience for repetitive test-driving tasks.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly when issues arise.
• Flexibility to work on agreed driving days during the 3-5 month internship period: 3 months if full-time
• Basic English communication skills; Finnish language skills are a plus.

This is a driving-focused internship. The role requires a strong safety mindset, the ability to follow instructions precisely, and readiness to spend significant time driving in real traffic environments. Working days can be flexible and will be agreed based on test needs, weather, vehicle availability, and the intern's schedule.
