About the Role

We’re looking for a Python backend/integration engineer to build reliable APIs and integrations between our AI platform and real-world enterprise systems (ERPs, accounting tools, internal data platforms).

No frontend work. No ML background required. Strong systems thinking matters more.

As an Integration & Systems Engineer at H6.ai (by 9H), you’ll work closely with our Chief AI Officer / CTO and platform engineers to design, build, and run the integration backbone of our AI platform. H6.ai delivers trusted, explainable AI systems for finance and operations teams. Your work ensures our AI agents integrate reliably, predictably, and safely into complex enterprise environments.

What You’ll Do

• Build and operate integrations between H6.ai and external systems (ERPs, accounting platforms, internal databases)
• Design and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and data pipelines
• Implement async workflows (webhooks, retries, idempotency, error handling)
• Normalise and validate real-world enterprise data (yes, it’s messy)
• Engineer quality into systems through automated tests and validation rules
• Support multiple client integrations while keeping reliability and clarity high
  

How We Think About Quality
At H6.ai, QA is part of engineering, not a separate function. You’ll:

• Write automated tests for integrations and APIs
• Encode basic financial and data checks (e.g. totals, tax, currency consistency)
• Ensure deterministic behaviour — the same input should produce the same output
• Help prevent regressions as the platform evolves

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in backend or systems integration engineering
• Strong Python skills
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs (JSON)
• Solid understanding of databases and SQL
• Experience with async systems, webhooks, or event-driven architectures
• Comfortable working with real-world enterprise data
• Able to manage multiple integrations in parallel

• Experience with ERPs, accounting, or finance systems
• CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
• RPA or workflow automation tools
• Data engineering or validation frameworks
• Exposure to AI-powered or document-processing systems
