Short DescriptionAn Insurance Specialist will be conducting interviews with patients and families to ensure insurance coverage, which includes obtaining benefit information and pre-certification.
Make referrals to financial assistance services for patients with less than 100% coverage.
Assist patients with medical coverage and this position will also perform scheduling duties and administrative duties when needed
Experience Required2 years insurance verification or registration experience in a hospital or physician office.
Knowledge of medical insurance and billing requirements.
Proficient in Flowcast, HQ, eCAOS, MISYS, Spheris.
Knowledge of state and federal medical assistance and health services programs preferred.
Ability to organize, take independent action and project Cooper values to customers and
co-workers.
Experienced in cardiology scheduling, front desk, and basic knowledge of hospital/physician coding.
Bilingual preferred.
Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required.
