Job Description:

Stantec is looking for Instrumentation & Controls designer with following capabilities and experience to be based in the Pune, India office.
The Instrumentation & control designer role conducts and supports the delivery of complete I&C basic and detailed design drawings and documentation associated with the Power plant, Oil & Gas Blending , Transportation Station, Seed Oil Extraction/Processing, Biodiesel, Material handling system associated with Mining (Open/ Underground), Coal handling, Food Processing, Bio Agri, Distillery, Sugar plant, Paper & Pulp, Cement Plant projects.
The role will support Stantec project technical leads by providing technical expertise to ensure that projects are delivered to cost, schedule, technical and quality standards to meet both client and Stantec expectations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in understanding P&ID diagrams, Instrumentation controls, ISA tags, symbols, electrical schematics, Instrument list, I/O Lists plus the ability to perform markups.
- Design and drafting of Control Panel, Server cabinet, Elevation drawings and GA.
- Prepare loop drawings, wiring diagrams, Interconnection, and control schematics diagrams
- Prepare hookups and standard details diagrams/drawings
- Drafting of Process and Instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s)
- Generate field instruments and PLC I/O lists from P&IDs
- Prepare Cable schedule and cable route diagrams and conduit development
- Prepare Instrument location plans and instrument installation details
- Preparation of Instrument earthing
- Drafting of Telecommunication and security system layouts including public address and general alarm (PA/GA) system, Telephone system, CCTV, Radio, access security and control system
- Drafting of Control System Architecture / Network diagrams
- Drafting of Riser diagrams
- Air Manifold schedule
- Design and drafting of Electrical equipment layout and plans
- Update Project website for latest P&ID’s database information
- Coordination with Electrical/ Civil / Mech / Process and other disciplines
- Communicate with global internal clients for input information and project status
- Positive team and client-focused attitude directed towards delivering quality work on time
- Able to work well with others in a fast-changing environment
- Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor / management
Person Specifications:
- Degree / Diploma in Instrumentation & control or equivalent from a recognized university and institute with 2-4 years of experience ,particularly with compliance issues and Power plant, Oil & Gas Blending , Transportation Station, Seed Oil Extraction/Processing, Biodiesel process.
- Must have expertise working on AutoCAD and well conversant with AutoCAD macro file usage.
- Experience working in remote / virtual environment on software’s like Bentley MicroStation, Open Plant P&ID, Autodesk P&ID (Plant 3D), AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, BIM360 etc. will be an added advantage.
- Strong Knowledge in AutoCAD Electrical, Library symbols and standard drawing creation
- Knowledge of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical layouts to prepare 2D ICA layout for cable routes. Know of 3D software like AVEVA, Revit will be added advantage.
- Knowledge of field instrumentation, DCS/PLC systems and applications is required.
- Knowledge of basic networking (Ethernet, ControlNet, Profibus, ProfiNet, Modbus, RS-485, etc)
- Knowledge of International standards like ISA, BS, IEC, NEC, UL, NEMA & etc
- Good verbal/written English communication skills, Presentation Skills, Learning Attitude, good grasping power and also should be a good team member.
Software Experience:
- AutoCAD
- MicroStation
- Revit
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel etc.), is must
- Inventor will be an advantages
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma/ BE in Electrical
- 4-7 years
- Knowledge of International standards like ISA, BS, IEC, NEMA, NEC, IEEE
- Good Communication skills, Presentation Skills, Learning Attitude, Good grasping power and should be a good team member.
Working experience of EHV substation and GIS substation will be added advantage

Skills Required
- Diploma or BE in Instrumentation & Control or Electrical
- 4-7 years of experience in instrumentation and control for industrial/process projects (power, oil & gas, processing plants)
- Expertise in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical, including macro file usage and library/standard drawing creation
- Proficiency with Bentley MicroStation
- Experience with Revit MEP and BIM workflows
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Strong knowledge of P&ID diagrams, ISA tags and symbols, instrument lists and I/O lists
- Experience preparing loop drawings, wiring diagrams, interconnection and control schematics, cable schedules and instrument installation details
- Knowledge of field instrumentation, DCS and PLC systems and applications
- Knowledge of industrial networking (Ethernet, ControlNet, Profibus, ProfiNet, Modbus, RS-485)
- Familiarity with international standards (ISA, BS, IEC, NEC, NEMA, IEEE, UL)
- Familiarity with OpenPlant P&ID, Autodesk Plant 3D, BIM360, AVEVA and Inventor
- Experience with EHV/GIS substation work
- Good verbal and written English, presentation skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
