Job Description

The Internal Sales Manager will lead and develop the Internal Sales function to deliver high-quality, compliant, and customer-focused commercial and technical support that drives business growth. The role ensures the team operates as an effective extension of external sales by maintaining strong technical competency, process excellence, and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Ensure the Internal Sales team consistently performs responsibilities to a high standard.
  • Lead onboarding, training, and competency development, including ownership and completion of the skills matrix.
  • Ensure team competency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications for order accuracy.
  • Guide the team in identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities to maximize revenue.
  • Ensure appropriate technical and commercial evaluation of customer enquiries and purchase orders.
  • Ensure proper coordination between Sales, Engineering, Aftermarket, and Orderbook teams via tools like iProjects.
  • Act as the escalation point for inter-company technical and commercial enquiries.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sales processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain data integrity in customer records, price lists, and transactional processes
  • Oversee order entry, quote generation, and contract review processes to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee key account and channel partner management, including assignment of account ownership.
  • Ensure effective communication between internal teams and external sales regarding customer activities.
  • Escalate and resolve customer issues, ensuring timely closure and root cause identification.
  • Ensure the Internal Sales function operates as an effective extension of the external sales organization.
  • Align team activities with broader business goals, revenue targets, and customer strategies.
  • Ensure the team maintains strong knowledge of product portfolios.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or 10 Years relevant Experience.  High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum  5 years of customer service.
  • Minimum 2 years in a leadership role managing direct reports.
  • Experience in an ERP system is preferred. 
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Email. 
  • Multi-channel Communication: Experience in communicating with customers through various channels such as team, phone and email.
  • Data Entry Skills: Accurately entering customer orders.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
