The Software Developer Intern will have the following responsibilities:
- Responsible for front to back-end development within a defined system independently, possessing a complete technology stack, process capabilities, and agile modern ways of working.
- Design, develop and implement solutions, based on a set of standards and processes which establish consistency across the enterprise data, reduce risk, and promote efficiencies in support of the organization's goals and objectives.
- Assists in collecting user documentation and requirements, as well as the development of user stories and estimates.
- Assists in development, testing, implementation, and support of application systems. Assists in peer reviews of solution designs and related code.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of incidents and provides production support of application and platforms.
Required:
- Pursing BA/BS in Comp Science/IS/Engineering
- Basic experience with collaboration tools, presenting, agile practices, DevSecOps, CI/CD, design thinking, user experience, cloud native technologies, Java, Node, React, Groovy, database development, secure coding, writing automated tests, monitoring, feature flag design
This is a hybrid role, 3 days in office, based out of our Cary, NC location.
About the MetLife Team: This role is within the Global Technology Organization (GTO) on the Global Technology Team.
- The Global Technology team works to deliver technology capabilities through app development, automation, architecture, maintenance and program mgmt., while ensuring availability of critical apps and improving tech resiliency and currency
