The AI Engineering Intern will have the following responsibilities:
- Participate as a member of an Agile scrum team in all ceremonies, including daily syncs and sprint/PI planning.
- Analyze, design, and develop changes to code for new and continuing AI initiatives. Adhere to code development standards.
- Participate in the architectural design of new AI features and enhancements for existing applications.
- With a focus on test driven development, perform appropriate unit, integration, and performance tests.
- Prepare necessary code documentation in relation to operation readiness requirements.
- Support diagnosis and remediation of production issues.
Skills Required:
- Enterprise Web Development / Code Deployment
- LLM's, GAN's, Machine Learning, Transformers, and Training
- Software Development Lifecycle (Agile)
- Application Testing (Test Driven Development / Unit / Integration)
- Communication and Status Reporting (Daily Standups / Weekly Management Reviews)
Additional Desired Skills & Interests:
- Programming Languages: Java, Java Sprint Boot, Angular/AngularJS, NodeJS, Hibernate, XML
- AI Tools: IBM Watson X, Microsoft Azure, Copilot, Salesforce Einstein
- Web Frameworks: Angular, Spring
- Build and Software Delivery: IntelliJ, Junit, Bamboo, BitBucket, Git, JIRA, Maven, Azure CI/CD
- Databases: SQL on relational DB's such as DB2, IBM UDB
- Testing tools: Tosca
- Code Quality Assurance: Sonar, Veracode
- Other tools - Azure DevOps, Splunk, Postman, AppDynamics
This is a hybrid role, 3 days in office, based out of our Cary, NC location .
About the MetLife Team: This role is within the Global Technology Organization (GTO) on the Global Technology Team.
- The Global Technology team works to deliver technology capabilities through app development, automation, architecture, maintenance and program mgmt., while ensuring availability of critical apps and improving tech resiliency and currency
