1. Ink Formulation & Development

  • Formulate inks for various substrates (film, paper, foil) ensuring proper viscosity, color strength, drying properties, and adhesion.

  • Adjust ink formulations based on print trials, customer specifications, or changes in raw material batches.

  • Develop new ink systems or improve existing ones to enhance print quality and efficiency.

2. Quality Control & Testing

  • Perform routine tests: color matching, viscosity, drying rate, gloss, and rub resistance.

  • Monitor ink performance during machines' runs and troubleshoot issues such as color variation, smearing, or clogging.

  • Maintain accurate records of ink batches tests, and corrective actions.

3. Lab & Inventory Management

  • Supervise inventory of ink and additives stocks.

  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and safe handling of chemicals.

  • Maintain lab equipment (k-bar, spectrophotometers, pumps, RK devices) and ensure calibration and upkeep.

  • Ensure the ERP data entry is accurate and up to date.

4. Staff Supervision & Training

  • Lead and train lab technicians in ink preparation, testing procedures, and safety protocols.

  • Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and monitor performance to meet production deadlines.

5. Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with machines' operators and production teams to ensure inks meet performance standards.

  • Communicate effectively with quality assurance and management regarding issues, improvements, or customer feedback.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety protocols, including chemical handling, storage, and disposal.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding solvent emissions and waste management.
