Role Description: Infrastructure Engineer – Product Operations
Role Purpose:
Wasabi Technologies is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Infrastructure engineer to join our Product Operations team. This individual will be responsible for scaling our systems and processes to accommodate our exponential growth. The Infrastructure Engineer will be managing multiple products and various sets of infrastructure elements, focused on security, automation, maintenance and more to meet the organizational needs. This role will oversee Production and Lab IT systems and assets, assist with deployment of upgrades and fixes, and provide training and support as needed. The candidate must effectively coordinate between internal & external stakeholders to ensure that 3rd party applications are deployed as intended. This role will support a wide range of infrastructure elements including (but not limited to) the administration of Wasabi’s 3rd party product production infrastructure and Partner Engineering lab infrastructure, cloud-based management, monitoring & collaboration tools.
The ideal candidate is a team player who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a passion for learning, and a strong ability to pick up on new technologies quickly. Flexibility, attention to detail, communication & problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.
This position reports to Manager, Product Management and will directly contribute to the achievement of Wasabi’s tactical, strategic partner & product objectives.

Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Engineer will be solely responsible for building secure, scalable infrastructure to support Partner Engineering and 3rd party products offered by Wasabi, with a focus on customer-facing solutions..
- Implement and streamline the project activation process by incorporating security measures and application design, while supporting cloud computing initiatives.
- Create & implement a backup strategy for all infrastructure elements to ensure protection from ransomware events.
- Manage multiple high-speed connectivity with Equinix, Megaport and other direct connect services.
- Effectively communicate with customers for product activations and onboarding.
- Keep abreast of technology trends and make solution recommendations that can be accomplished through existing / new technologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 + years of Hands-on experience in infrastructure lab, implementing and managing VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud-based infrastructure (IBM Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) to host multiple applications.
- Proficiency in managing Windows Server, Linux (RedHat and Debian compatible kernels), and MacOS environments.
- Experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter Server, including securing, patching, and upgrading these platforms.
- Expertise in VPN technologies such as L2TP/IPSec, IKEv2, Wireguard, etc.
- Familiarity with securing internal resources using firewalls, VPN, NAT, IPv4, and IPv6.
- Solid understanding of network subnetting and routing protocols like RIP, OSPF, and BGP.
