Job summary
The IRIS2 (Infrastructure for Resilience, Interconnectivity and Security by Satellite) constellation is the European Union’s answer to pressing challenges ahead, offering enhanced communication capacities to governmental users, businesses, while ensuring high-speed internet broadband to cope with connectivity dead zones. The need for a secure and resilient global connectivity increases with the digitization of the economy and society, and the increasing geopolitical and cybersecurity threats.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will join the IRIS2 team and you will be responsible with the configuration and administration of the project environment, including orchestration of on-prem containers. The project respects the policies of Thales software development, using the Agile methodology and various automation tools implemented in Gitlab pipelines.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage dedicated project business networks from the infrastructure perspective
Negotiate with stakeholders the best technical implementation for the customer requirements
Advise engineering team on the capabilities and timeline of the future implementations
Assists as part of the team on the design of components of larger systems.
Produces detailed architectural documents related to the existing infrastructure
Puts skills and project experience into practice and provides support to less experienced colleagues.
Required Skills & Experience:
Solid virtualization skills: VMware, Virt-manager
Solid knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes orchestration, cluster administration, especially on-prem
Strong experience with system administration: Linux (mainly RHEL)
Proven competencies related to networking, in different project contexts
Previous experience with various scripting tools: shell scripting, Python
Implementation of security and compliance policies (Security patch updates)
Ability to follow technical procedures
Ability to create technical documentation
Nice to have:
Experience with various DevOps technologies: GitLab, Artifactory, Ansible, Terraform
CCNA certification
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification
