Information Technology Manager (Workflow / Cloud / AI) (26270154)

The Information Technology Manager / Assistant Information Technology Manager will be a key member of the Applications & Integration Services Section within the Office of Information Technology, reporting directly to the Senior Information Technology Manager. The incumbent will play a strategic role in advancing the university’s digital transformation by leading the development and management of workflow automation, and cloud-native applications, while applying artificial intelligence technologies across diverse university functions to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and manage automated workflows solutions to streamline administrative and academic operations;
  • Architect and implement intelligent applications leveraging AI technologies to enhance operational efficiency and support data-informed decision-making;
  • Build and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native applications using platforms such as Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability and performance;
  • Collaborate closely with academic and administrative units to identify digital transformation opportunities and deliver tailored technology solutions aligned with institutional goals;
  • Oversee end-to-end project lifecycles, manage external vendors and system integrators, and ensure timely delivery of technology initiatives that meet strategic objectives;
  • Serve as the subject matter expert, supervising internal technical teams and external consultants to ensure best practices in system design, development, and deployment;
  • Engage business users to collect functional requirements and translate them into actionable user stories for application development and enhancement; and
  • Take up other IT projects and assignments as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline;
  • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in IT application development or systems integration;
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing workflow automation applications, AI-enabled solutions, and cloud-native systems;
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Azure, including design, deployment, and operational management;
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and programming environments (e.g., Ollama, Python, AI-Coder);
  • Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, K2);
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable user stories;
  • Proven capability to lead internal technical teams and supervise external consultants or system integrators;
  • Solid project management skills, including vendor coordination and oversight of timely project delivery;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with academic and administrative stakeholders; and
  • Ability to work well in a team environment while also being capable of working independently.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 2 years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Skills Required
