About the Role

This role supports the development and implementation of information assurance and IT policy projects, providing advice across the organisation on information assurance, compliance, technology, information, and online matters in line with LCC policy. It is responsible for delivering information assurance and compliance functions, coordinating compliance services, and leading investigations into information security and compliance incidents. The role also promotes an innovative, collaborative, and continuously improving approach to support the development of a unified, effective, and fit-for-purpose online, information, and technology strategy.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Have NVQ level 4 or demonstrable experience of supporting an Information Governance service, service appropriate to the above qualification level.
  • Have experience of supporting an information Governance Service. Experience of supporting the development, designing and delivering of a quality information governance service, in accordance with the strategic business need of the organisation and external partners.
  • Experience of taking ownership for co-ordinating investigations into information security/compliance incidents and issues, negotiating actions and leading on continuous improvement. Demonstrate leadership, be visionary and able to look beyond day to day operational issues, gain an understanding of the current and future needs of the Council and partners.  
  • Act proactively, think and plan ahead, add value through your contributions, represent the I&T service, the Corporate Resources department and the County Council in a professional manner. 
  • Be willing to advise and challenge decision makers across the organisation and amongst partners to ensure the best outcome for the County Council and the people of Leicestershire. 
  • Work collaboratively, forging strong working relationships at all levels across the Council, with all aspects of the information and technology service and with partners. 
  • Welcome change and responds flexibly to changing organisational needs without losing sight of the longer term strategic direction.

Skills Required
