Under the direction of the Chief Integration and Quality Officer, the Director of Infection Control I Employee Health is responsible for directing, coordinating and execution of activities necessary for the implementation of the Infection Prevention Program, Infection Control policies and provides guidance for providing quality patient care and a safe environment. The responsibilities include the coordination of data collection, hospital quality improvement related to infection control/prevention initiatives and Regulatory Compliance activities, along with communication of the results of these activities, to Administration, Clinic Administration, Department Directors, and Medical Staff. The individual demonstrates personal and professional responsibility, creates and maintains an environment that promotes mutual trust, acceptance, recognition and respect, and assumes responsibility for own professional development. rec:max

Preferred Qualifications

   

 

Education: BSN or Medical Lab Technologist required.

Minimum 3 years of varied clinical experience, including documented management responsibilities and involvement in quality monitoring activities. Experience with a wide range of cultural, age and educational diversities within a patient population. CIC required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse or Registered Medical Technologist required.

Medical equipment used in the delivery of patient care, telephone, audio visual aids. Fax, copier, personal computer and related software. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; able to analyze situations, recognize problems, search out pertinent facts, and reach sound conclusions; demonstrated competency in the organization and presentation of instructional materials; knowledge of principles of education for multiple age groups. Ability to effectively chair and serve as a contributing member of intradisciplinary committees. Excellent time management and critical thinking skills. Ability to form effective working relationships with employees, management, physicians and patients. Hearing and visual acuity. Able to lift and handle supplies

and audiovisual equipment. Able to communicate verbally and in writing. Able to meet the physical demands of the job with assistive or adaptive devices or reasonable accommodation. Able to meet standards of health established by law, regulation or policy. Ability to assist in lifting, pushing and pulling patients/equipment involving a minimum of 50 pounds. Ability to meet the attendance requirements of the job.



Skills Required

  • BSN or Medical Lab Technologist degree
  • Minimum 3 years varied clinical experience with documented management responsibilities and quality monitoring involvement
  • CIC (Certification in Infection Control)
  • Current licensure as Registered Nurse or Registered Medical Technologist
  • Experience with culturally and age-diverse patient populations
  • Ability to use telephone, audiovisual aids, fax, copier, and personal computer
