Within the Finance Department, we are looking for a dedicated and team-oriented new colleague to join the Central Tax Team of Opella. In that respect, we are very much attached to find a candidate with a strong sense of commitment, towards the tasks, the business and the team.
With a strong footprint in France, our Tax Team is spread world-wide and we offer you to be part of an international setting with many contacts across different functions and countries. As an Opella Indirect Taxes and Tax solutions Lead, you will report to Opella. Head of Tax Solution. The primary working language is English.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, tech-oriented Indirect tax professional to join our Central Tax Team at Opella as an Indirect Taxes and Tax solutions Lead. This is a global, transversal role with coverage across 44 countries, requiring close collaboration with various teams, particularly GBS (Global Business Services), to ensure indirect tax compliance and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge and extensive experience in VAT and a strong understanding of e-invoicing, electronic tax-related data reporting, and digital tax procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure Indirect Tax Compliance and Efficiency
- Address VAT-related inquiries and support tax audits.
- Maintain and monitor tax controls to ensure compliance.
- Develop and implement guides for VAT compliance, primarily for Europe but with a global perspective.
- Support Tax Process Optimization & Standardization
- Support the design and implementation of the Tax Target Operating Model to enhance efficiency.
- Act as a key liaison ensuring continuity between Central Tax team, GBS, third-party advisors, Operational and IT teams etc. to align tax processes.
- Project & Risk Management
- Coordinate and manage tax-related projects, particularly related to VAT, e-invoicing and electronic tax reporting.
- Ensure readiness for tax audits by implementing best practices
- Monitor and coordinate e-invoicing projects globally and similar initiatives to maintain compliance with evolving regulations.
About You
Qualification and experience
- 5+ years of experience in indirect taxation, with a strong focus on VAT, e-invoicing, digital tax reporting, and compliance.
- Background in a Big4 firm or a multinational company (foreign experience is beneficial)
- Legal or accounting degree is required.
- Knowledge of SAP R3 and SAP S4HANA environment, tax setup, tax tables is a plus
- Professional-level English proficiency – comfortable to use English as primary working language
