Job Description SummaryThe Surgical Visualization & Guidance (SVG) National Sales Manager is responsible for leading and driving direct and indirect sales, achieve expected growth in India and neighboring countries (Bangladesh, Nepal). We are looking for a national sales manager with good communication, negotiations and team leading abilities with experience in medical equipment sales in India.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of sales managers and application specialists as well as distribution channel partners to drive orders and sales in the territory.

  • Work with APAC Sales VP and Business Development Manager to develop and implement key strategies to ensure orders and revenues growth expectations in the territory.

  • Participate in multiple tradeshows, workshops, conferences specific to therapeutic segments to increase intraoperative active imaging awareness and generate business leads.

  • In collaboration with Marketing and Business Development Manager, identify and pursue new activities for specific surgical procedures opportunities at the same time in continuing to reinforce existing relations with users and institutions.

  • As the “owner” of the orders and revenues, the National Sales Manager/Business Head will have to often interact with sales operations team to track progress of ongoing sales and be responsible for reporting on this activity to APAC Sales VP and Senior Management.

  • Work with APAC Sales VP for weekly business reviews, orders and sales forecasts, as well as win/loss analysis and business updates.

  • Partner, when required, with Global Marketing Communications and Product Strategy on alignment and escalation plans related to the territory, in messaging and activities (Master classes programs, brochures, education programs etc.) that support the product strategy and marketing roadmap.

  • Market & Competitive Intelligence – be an expert in the user & channel.  Understand the customer and the customer experience to evaluate local trends in assigned segments or new ones, but related markets to determine segment penetration opportunities and strategies.

  • Build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s) and manage relationships from a consulting perspective. Collaborate with sales and clinical application teams on optimizing participation of KOLs to specific regional programs/country specific activities.

  • Collaborate with Global Product and Regulatory teams to ensure the commercial availability of the entire SVG portfolio in the territory.

  • As the “owner” of orders and revenues, the National Sales Manager/Business Head will have to often interact with sales operations teams to track progress of ongoing orders and sales.

Requirements

  • Experience in surgical equipment or surgical devices sales

  • Experience in the field of medical devices is mandatory

  • Experience in clinical and surgical (OR) settings is a strong advantage

  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic marketing and sales plans to achieve orders/sales targets and expand market share in surgical environment will be an advantage

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional teams, surgeons and customers’ management teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence a direct sales team as well as channel partners

  • Demonstrated success in developing strong customer relationship and market insights

  • Ability to develop and execute a sales plan to achieve business goals

  • Microsoft Office with an emphasis on PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • Experience with CRM tools for leads management and quoting will be an advantage

  • Good negotiation and presentations skills, for internal and customers interaction.

  • Ability to coach and mentor others

  • Ability to travel extensively in the territory

  • To be successful in this role, you possess at least 3 to 5 years of managing a team for direct and/or indirect sales within the medical device environment. Candidates with experience in urology surgery, general surgery, neurosurgery or robotic surgery are preferred.

Qualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities) Core Competencies

  • Required to have previously managed a national or regional team of sales executives and/or distribution channel partners.

  • High technical aptitude with ability to accurately articulate the underlying technologies and applications of SVG portfolio as well as company’s IT tools.

  • A team leader, with well-honed teamwork skills including the ability to work with executive level prospects and customers.

  • Proven track record of success meeting/exceeding sales goals.

  • Proven experience in developing and delivering effective sales process and tactical training.

  • Proven ability to analyse a customer need and develop and recommend alternative solutions to meet that need.

  • Being a seasoned negotiator with highly effective conflict resolution skills.
