About this opportunity:
Enjoy working with technology and curious about how the bigger picture fits together? Join Ericsson's Systems, Security and Business Strategy unit and develop your skills in IT architecture while staying close to the technical side.
Our team provides the secure, reliable infrastructure that Ericsson's R&D community uses to develop and test new products and features. We work across computing, networking, storage, and security, making technical decisions and evolving services towards the future.
This is a great opportunity if you are early in their career, with up to five years of relevant experience. You might have worked in cloud, software development, networking, cybersecurity, or infrastructure. Now you want to understand how these areas connect and take on more responsibility for designing solutions.
You will work alongside experienced architects and security specialists, contributing with your own ideas, and build confidence through practical work. We are interested in your potential, curiosity, and willingness to learn. You do not need an architect title on your CV or experience in every area listed below. If you enjoy practical engineering but also want a say in how systems are designed, this role brings both together. You will see how your work supports Ericsson's R&D teams, learn from experienced colleagues, and take on more complex challenges as you develop.
What you willdo
- Work with networking, storage, monitoring, security, and physical lab infrastructure.
- Explore new technologies, test ideas, and compare options to support technical decisions.
- Learn how our services fit into the wider R&D IT environment and help identify improvements.
- Work with architects, security analysts, and service owners to develop solutions that meet architecture and security requirements.
- Connect with colleagues across BNEW and BCSS, share what you learn, and contribute to common standards.
- Help design, deploy, and operate GPU clusters for AI workloads.
- Take ownership of defined technical tasks and build toward leading larger studies and initiatives as your experience grows.
The skills you bring:
You enjoy understanding how things work and finding ways to improve them. When you face an unfamiliar problem, you are willing to investigate, ask questions, and try different approaches.
We are looking for:
- A technical foundation gained through work, internships, studies, or personal projects.
- Practical experience in an area such as software development, systems administration, cloud, networking, storage, cybersecurity, or automation.
- An interest in architecture and how technical decisions affect security, performance, and reliability.
- A willingness to take initiative, seek feedback, and learn from others.
- Good organizational skills and an ability to adapt when priorities change.
What you can learn and develop
You do not need to know everything before you start. Depending on your background and the work you take on, you will have opportunities to develop your knowledge of:
- Architecture principles and how they connect technical solutions with business needs.
- DevSecOps and information security practices, including ISMS and ISO/IEC 27000 standards.
- Cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as a Service.
- Datacenter and WAN networking, core services such as DNS, DHCP.
- Storage, monitoring, and observability.
- AI infrastructure, including GPU clusters.
