Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, people-oriented Atomic Spectroscopy Application Scientist with a strong focus on Advanced Material, Environmental, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, and Food methodologies using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES). In this position, you will be on a team of application scientists supporting Agilent's North American Life Science and Applied Markets’ Atomic Spectroscopy Business. This position will travel throughout the US to support our clients.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing pre-sales technical and application support for sales team members in competitive sales situations.

Perform sample analyses and demonstrations for prospective customers using Agilent’s AA, MP-AES and ICP-OES Systems.

Preparing and presenting technical information at professional seminars to potential customers.

Providing phone and on-site post-sales technical and applications support to Agilent’s AA, MP-AES and ICP-OES user base.

Presenting the latest advancements in Atomic Spectroscopy at conferences, symposiums, and e-seminars

Working with Agilent’s Atomic Spectroscopy Product Specialists and Account Managers to develop technical sales strategies.

Contributing to developing new publications (Application Notes and peer-reviewed manuscripts) highlighting Agilent’s AA, MP-AES and ICP-OES platforms.

Providing reports on activities and technical trends observed in the field regularly to Product and Field Marketing.

Promoting Agilent’s AA, MP-AES and ICP-OES platforms and aiding in the training of the sales force.

Providing pre- and post-sales support for systems in 21CFR-compliant environments.
The ideal candidate will reside near the Agilent Center of Excellence office located in the Chicago, IL or Wilmington, DE areas.

Qualifications

Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD degree
-
Familiarity with major applications for ICP-OES, including Environmental, Specialty Chemicals, Advanced Materials, Mining, Petrochemical, Food, or Pharmaceutical.

Hands-on experience performing metals analyses at trace levels.

Experience with ICP-OES analysis following EPA, FDA, USP, ASTM, or AOAC methodologies.

Familiarity with Atomic Absorption (AA), MP-AES, and ICP-MS is desirable.

Strong computer skills and excellent technical written and oral presentation skills are essential.

Must be a good team player and be able to work collaboratively on projects and sales opportunities.

Strong project management experience and skills, able to meet deadlines while handling several different projects simultaneously.

Available for flexible work schedules and up to 50% business travel throughout the US.
Additional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least January 6, 2025 or until the job is no longer posted. It is sales incentive eligible. In the US, this position is eligible for reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.
The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $135,150.00 - $225,250.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
