As a High-Volume Manufacturing Shift Equipment Engineer, you will be a part of a world-class team supporting our critical high-volume manufacturing ramp. This hands-on role includes monitoring, maintaining, and upgrading equipment while collaborating with process team members and area engineers. You will be responsible for managing tool performance, performing preventative maintenance, and addressing mechanical, electronic, and software issues to guarantee flawless equipment functionality. This is a shift position rotating 3-4 days off a week.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Equipment Owners and Shift Engineers/Technicians to resolve yield loss, excursions, defects, tool restrictions, or output loss and drive root cause analysis to permanent prevention.
  • Improve area/shift KPIs by driving Long Term Down (LTD) reductions, Manufacturing Availability (MA) improvements, and excursion prevention to optimize fab performance.
  • Drive a culture of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), including TPM metrics, workstation health reports, continuous improvement.
  • Analyze data with SPC principles to improve process controls and reduce defectivity baselines.
  • Apply Design of Experiment (DOE) principles and/or 8D problem solving methodology and identify equipment issues driving unscheduled down.
  • Accurately handle chemicals and associated hazards in the work area.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; other related fields or experience may be considered.
  • More than 2 years' experience as a semiconductor equipment engineer with mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be flexible to work in a cleanroom environment on 12-hour shifts, rotating 3-4 workdays per week and days to nights every four months.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, basic electronic components and skilled in electrical, vacuum, gas flow and mechanical fundamentals, fixing systems at the component level.
  • Intermediate software skills, i.e. Python, Java, Tableau, Matlab, MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to learn area equipment and understanding of how the equipment is built.
  • Understanding of fab process areas, equipment and supporting systems.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating in a fast-paced fab environment.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • More than 2 years of experience as a semiconductor equipment engineer with mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment on rotating 12-hour shifts, including day-to-night rotations every four months
  • Knowledge of AC/DC circuits and basic electronic components
  • Electrical, vacuum, gas-flow, and mechanical fundamentals, including component-level system repair
  • Intermediate skills with Python, Java, Tableau, MATLAB, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn area equipment and understand equipment construction
  • Understanding of semiconductor fab process areas, equipment, and supporting systems
  • Strong time-management and communication skills
  • Experience collaborating in a fast-paced fab environment
  • Experience or interest in developing agentic AI workflows
