Position SummaryThe HR Manager acts as the primary liaison between HR staff and senior leadership, translating organizational goals into actionable HR priorities.
HR Strategy & Leadership
• Partner with the Sr. HR Director to translate organizational goals into HR strategies, programs, and initiatives that support Curant Health’s mission and values.
• Serve as a key advisor to department managers and leadership on all people-related matters including employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational development.
• Lead and develop the HR team to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across all HR functions; establish team goals, monitor KPIs, and report progress to the Sr. HR Director.
• Represent the HR department in cross-functional leadership meetings, project teams, and strategic planning sessions as directed by the Sr. HR Director.
• Champion a continuous improvement mindset within the HR function by identifying process inefficiencies and implementing scalable, data-driven solutions.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
• Provide strategic direction and oversight to the Talent Acquisition Specialist on all aspects of full-cycle recruiting, including requisition management, sourcing strategies, interview frameworks, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
• Review and approve job postings, offer letters, and compensation recommendations in alignment with established salary benchmarks and internal equity standards.
• Oversee affirmative action plan development and ensure compliance with EEO, ADA, and applicable federal and state hiring regulations.
• Monitor recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, offer acceptance rates, diversity hiring goals) and present quarterly reports to the Sr. HR Director.
• Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition and Marketing team to strengthen Curant Health’s employer brand across all platforms including LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor.
• Guide workforce planning efforts by assessing current and future staffing needs in collaboration with department leaders.
Training, Learning & Development
• Facilitate and provide oversight and strategic direction to the Training team in the design, development, and delivery of training programs, including new hire orientation, compliance training, leadership development, and ongoing skills training.
• Review training effectiveness metrics, needs assessments, and post-training evaluations; use data to drive curriculum improvements and close identified performance gaps.
• Collaborate with department leaders and the Corporate Trainer to ensure training content remains aligned with company policies, URAC standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure training records, schedules, and compliance documentation are properly maintained in the Learning Management System (LMS) and HRIS.
• Identify and develop high-potential employees within the HR team and across the organization by advocating for targeted development opportunities.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
• Handle and serve as a senior resource for complex, sensitive, or high-risk employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary actions, Letter of Expectations (LOE), performance improvement plans (PIPs), and involuntary separations.
• Provide coaching and guidance to managers and supervisors on addressing performance issues, progressive discipline, and legal compliance.
• Support the HR team in managing termination processes, ensuring documentation accuracy and adherence to all state and federal regulations.
• Oversee the analysis of exit interview data collected by Talent Acquisition and HR Generalists; present findings and retention recommendations to senior leadership and/or Sr. HR Director.
• Manage unemployment claims processes and represent the organization in hearings as needed.
Benefits, Payroll & Leaves Administration
• Own the accuracy and provide oversight to the HR Generalist in managing bi-weekly payroll processing, benefit administration (open enrollment, benefit meetings, insurance documentation), and employee status changes in UKG/HRIS.
• Ensure accuracy of payroll, 401(k) contributions, benefit invoices, and HRIS data; escalate discrepancies to the Sr. HR Director as appropriate.
• Oversee our leave of absence programs: FMLA, STD, LTD, personal leaves, ADA accommodations, and Workers’ Compensation claims, ensuring employees are communicated with clearly and processes are followed correctly.
• Manage and strengthen our relationships with third-party benefit vendors, brokers, and carriers; I expect our external partners to be held to the same standard of responsiveness and accuracy we hold ourselves to.
Compliance, Policies & HR Records
• Ensure HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks remain current, legally compliant, and effectively communicated across the organization; coordinate required updates with the Sr. HR Director.
• Oversee maintenance and auditing of employee records and files by the HR team, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements including URAC Specialty Pharmacy v3.1 standards.
• Monitor federal, state, and local employment law changes and proactively update HR practices accordingly; notify the Sr. HR Director of any material compliance risks.
• Oversee preparation and review of HR compliance reports, including AAP, EEO-1, and other required filings.
Employee Engagement & Culture
• Lead and drive the planning and execution of employee engagement initiatives, company events, roundtables, and recognition programs in partnership with the HR team and Office Operations Administrators.
• Oversee the administration of annual Engagement Surveys and Pulse Surveys; analyze results, develop action plans, and present findings and countermeasures to leadership.
• Be a visible, accessible, and trusted HR presence throughout the organization employees at every level should feel comfortable coming to this person, and managers should see them as a genuine resource.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture by acting as a visible, approachable HR leader who builds trust at all levels of the organization.
• Support managers in building team morale, improving work relationships, and increasing employee productivity and retention.
Office Operations
• Provide management oversight to the Office Operations Administrators, ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations including facilities management, vendor relationships, compliance auditing, and administrative/executive support across all Curant Health locations.
• Review and approve operational decisions related to facility maintenance projects, vendor contract renewals, space planning, and major equipment purchases.
• Ensure the Office Operations Administrator’s compliance audit processes (shipping, patient engagement, pharmacy department) are completed timely and that findings are reported appropriately.
Qualifications (Education and/or Experience):
• Five (5) + years of progressive HR experience in a generalist capacity with focused experience conducting employee relations investigations, handling employee relations issues, training, employee and organizational development, payroll, benefits administration, experience a plus.
• Three (3) + years in a HR supervisory or management capacity overseeing multiple HR functions or staff members required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/People Operations, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Sociology, or a related field and/or Master’s degree/MBA strongly preferred.
• HR Certification strongly preferred: HR Generalist, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP
• Demonstrated hands-on experience across multiple HR disciplines including talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, benefits and payroll administration, leave of absences, recruiting, compensation, organizational/learning development, workforce planning and audit/compliance matters.
• Thorough, working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations such FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, OSHA, WC and HIPAA as applicable and the confidence to apply them in real situations.
• Microsoft Office Suite experience and strong use of Power Point presentation skills required.
• UKG experience preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervisory duties include conducting regular one-on-one check-ins, facilitating goal-setting and performance reviews, ensuring equitable workload distribution, resolving team conflicts, and cultivating a collaborative and compliant HR function. The HR Manager provides direct oversight, mentorship, performance management, and professional development guidance for the HR team.
