Scope of Position
The Human Resources Generalist will provide clerical/administrative support to one or more functional areas of Human Resources such as recruitment, engagement, benefits, and training to ensure a smooth operation of the office. The primary responsibility of the Generalist will be to monitor all hiring and recruitment processes for compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and company policies and standards.
Position Requirements

- Minimum of 1 + year of Human Resources or related experience in a large complex/luxury property preferred.
- Ability to interact effectively with Associates at all levels of the organization.
- Previous HRIS system experience required, Paycom preferred.
- Marriot International experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Proven organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of talent acquisition and employment laws preferred.
- Second language is a plus.
- Ability to multi-task in an ever-changing environment.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes and assists any visitors to the Human Resources office, handling inquiries whenever possible.
- Administer office duties to include but not limited to, answering telephone calls, distributing mail, filing, processing invoices and ordering office supplies.
- Maintain filing systems.
- Assists with employee engagement and community service events as needed.
- Completes assignments and projects in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Human Resources Managers.
Recruitment
- Assist with reviewing job descriptions and career advertisements.
- Assist with reviewing applications/resumes and setting up interviews as needed.
- Assist with pre-employment paperwork to include drug tests, background screening and employment references.
- Schedule new employees for new hire paperwork and orientation.
- Maintain HRIS systems and applicant tracker to ensure information is accurate and up to date.
- Ensures I-9 compliance is up to date; ensures timely renewal of work authorization documents in accordance with federal laws.
- Assist management in preparing materials for job fairs and other assigned projects.
- Maintain and distribute a list of career opportunities.
Education
- 2-year degree from an accredited university; 2 years’ experience in the human resources or related professional area; certified trainer.
OR - 4-year bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and work independently.
- Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Physical Requirements
- Sit or stand at a desk for long periods of time.
- Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk.
- Use the telephone and computer keyboard daily.
- Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
- Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.

- Previous HRIS experience required; Paycom experience preferred

- Two-year degree and two years of human resources or related professional experience, or a four-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field
