Work Schedule: This role will be onsite 4-5 days a week
Position Summary:
The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at UVA. This position supports the human capital service areas of talent and recruitment, performance management, benefits administration, employee development and training, safety, and employee services. Will work collaboratively to best align HR practices with the organization’s evolving needs and team-oriented structure. The coordinator will be a brand ambassador for UVA’s unique school culture. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry. The coordinator will work following all applicable laws, guidelines, and UVA policies.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Posts position openings | vacancies
- Updates the position coding and details in HR systems
- Maintains up-to-date position descriptions
- Answers candidate’s and employee’s phone and email inquiries
- Coordinates recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews and supporting the interview process
- Screens to ensure candidates meet the minimum requirement for the position
- Tracks the status of candidates in the HRIS and sends notifications as needed
- Maintains and audits the background check files
- Schedules and conducts new employee orientation and onboarding process
- Requests technology for new employees
- Prepares, organizes, and maintains employee files, ensuring accuracy and compliance through regular internal audits of files and HRIS data
- Coordinates the I-9 process, including verifying documentation, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and maintaining accurate I-9 files
- Inputs and updates employee data in the HRIS, processes new hires, assigns and tracks completion of compulsory checklists, documentation, and training assignments, including annual training courses.
- Assists with Profile of Education Personnel (PEP) coding
- Conducts follow-up calls and check-ins with new hires post onboarding to ensure a smooth transition and address any concerns
- Conducts thorough research and resolves issues effectively, ensuring timely and accurate problem-solving
- Researches legislation and guidelines related to employee-mandated training, utilizing available resources to ensure compliance with all HR-related requirements
- Coordinates employee engagement efforts through check ins, outreach, events, etc.
- Processes all educator/teaching certificate applications
- Manages document photocopying, scanning, and emailing, while performing additional administrative duties as required
- Supports the preparation and coordination of the evaluation process, while maintaining accurate HRIS records
- Assists in collecting and verifying required payroll documentation to ensure accurate and compliant recordkeeping
- Provides high-quality customer service by answering employee and candidate inquiries and requests
- Compiles documents for audit requests
- Travels occasionally to support statewide mandated test administration and to participate in student-sponsored events.
- Performs all other duties as assigned

- Minimum of 5 years of related professional work experience as an educational leader, in online learning environments, and with non-traditional or traditional public school experience

- 5 + years of experience as an educational leader
- 4 + years in online learning environments
- 3 + years of charter or traditional school system
