Overview: Our client is a
well-established organisation seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support
the day-to-day HR operations. The successful candidate will assist with
recruitment, employee records, onboarding, payroll support, training, employee
relations, and general HR administration in Barbados.
Duties
& Responsibilities:
General
HR & Administrative Support
- Provide administrative
and clerical support to the HR Department.
- Prepare employment
letters, memos, notices, and other HR correspondence.
- Take minutes at HR
meetings, investigations, disciplinary hearings, and Health & Safety
meetings.
- Maintain accurate
physical and electronic employee files.
- Coordinate HR
meetings, interviews, training sessions, and staff events.
- Assist with employee
engagement activities and HR events.
- Respond to general
employee HR queries and direct matters as required.
- Provide HR support to
off-site locations when needed.
Employee
Records & Recruitment
- Maintain accurate
employee records and HR databases.
- Track employee leave
and other HR-related information.
- Assist with
recruitment, including posting vacancies, screening applications,
scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Assist with new
employee onboarding and orientation.
- Prepare documentation
for staffing changes and role adjustments.
Payroll
& Attendance
- Assist with payroll
processing and monitoring of payroll records.
- Monitor attendance,
absenteeism, and lateness.
- Prepare related
correspondence in conjunction with the Payroll Department.
Training
& Development
- Assist with
coordinating and documenting employee training and development activities.
- Maintain training
records and monitor completion of mandatory training.
- Coordinate training
schedules and communicate training information to employees.
Employee
Relations & Compliance
- Assist with employee
investigations, disciplinary matters, and grievances.
- Maintain records
relating to employee performance and disciplinary actions.
- Assist in ensuring HR
practices comply with Barbados Labour legislation and company policies.
- Support the
implementation and communication of HR policies.
- Assist with Health
& Safety activities, reporting, and related documentation.
HR
Reporting & Benefits
- Assist with the
preparation of regular HR reports.
- Compile information
for HR projects, audits, and budgeting purposes.
- Assist with the
administration of employee benefits, including medical, health, and
pension plans.
- Maintain strict
confidentiality of employee and company information.
- Perform other
HR-related duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in
Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years’
experience in a similar HR role.
- Knowledge of Barbados
Labour legislation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft
Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of payroll
software would be an asset.
- Excellent written and
verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational
and problem-solving skills.
- High level of
confidentiality, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work
effectively with multiple stakeholders and meet deadlines.
- Valid light goods
license and own vehicle, as some local travel is required.
